Gary Neville questions Chelsea for considering selling midfielder

Manchester United legend, Gary Neville has questioned Chelsea over their decision to consider selling midfielder, Conor Gallagher

in the ongoing January transfer window.

Neville also suggested that Chelsea should avoid selling Gallagher because he is playing pretty well for the Blues this season.

Gallagher was left out of Chelsea’s starting line-up on Tuesday evening as they thrashed Middlesbrough 6-1 to qualify for the Carabao Cup final.

The England international has captained Chelsea in Reece James’ absence and has been a consistent performer under manager Mauricio Pochettino this season.

It is understood that the Premier League West London club have contemplated selling Gallagher this month, with Tottenham Hotspur keen on a move for the 23-year-old.

“Are Chelsea really going to sell him?’ Neville said during his commentary for Sky Sports.

“That is what I thought when I saw the team-sheet [against Middlesbrough] come through.

“It has come to a point where you have spent that much money, you have got to sell one of your own, who is playing pretty well, to fund it.
