Brentford have launched a £34m bid for Fiorentinawinger Nicolas Gonzalez.
The Italian club have considered the player ‘not for sale’ this summer, and Brentford are yet to receive a reply to their offer.
Gonzalez is a main target for Brentford before the end of the window as they look to bolster their attack.
The offer is a huge one for the club and equals the record bid for Brennan Johnson made earlier in the window.
Johnson also remains a target for the Bees but Nottingham Forest have not wanted to sell him and there is interest from other, big Premier League clubs.
Fiorentina knocked back an initial approach from Brentford for Gonzalez earlier in the window and insisted he was not for sale. They also turned down a bid from Leicester in January.
