EPL: He’ll be huge for Man United soon – Paul Scholes hails Brazilian winger

Former Manchester United star, Paul Scholes has said Antony would be a huge player for the club in the next coming seasons.

Scholes pointed out that it has taken the Brazilian time to settle in the Premier League but added that this may be for the fact that he is coming from a different country.

The Brazilian, who joined the Red Devils from Ajax last summer in a deal worth about £82 million, appeared to take a while to adapt to his new surroundings.

A host of football pundits have questioned whether the former Ajax star has a long-term future at the Theatre of Dreams but Scholes believes the Brazilian has looked a ‘different player’ recently.

The United legend says Antony, who has a lot of expectations on his shoulders, has ‘started to look like the player we all expected’.

“I think since that Everton game at home [on April 8] he[Antony] has become a different player,” Scholes said on BT Sport.

He noted that the BraziI international was a bit predictable and could hardly go past defenders but has started to add different dimensions to his game.

“He started to run in behind Ben Godfrey[against Everton], he did it two or three times and was clean through on goal but didn’t quite get the goal.

“In the next couple of years, he could be a huge player for this club.”
