Paul Scholes hands Man Utd signing to get best out of Sancho

Manchester United legend, Paul Scholes has urged his former club to sign a “better right-back’ in the summer in order to get the best out of winger, Jadon Sancho.

Sancho joined Manchester United from Borussia Dortmund in 2021 for £73m.

The England international missed early parts of the season after he chose to take a break from football following concerns arising over his wellbeing.

Sancho has played 24 games this season and looks to be one of Man United’s most promising young talents, scoring two goals in his last five league appearances.

But Scholes believes the 21-year-old needs better players around him.

Speaking to BT Sport, Scholes said, “He [Sancho] obviously had his issues and problems that the manager dealt with, he came back and scored a couple of goals

“I still think there is a player in there, he just needs the right players around him.”

He added, “If United can possibly find a better right-back it might make him a different proposition.”
