Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola admits he was surprised by Crystal Palace's sacking of Patrick Vieira.
Vieira was axed by the Eagles on Friday morning.
Guardiola said: “I'm sorry Vieira. Of course, no one knows why he was fired.
"At least I'm not sure."
Vieira has deep connections with City as a former player and also working as technical director and U21 coach before leaving to be coach of sister club New York City FC.
