Ex-Dynamo Moscow president Belous: Zakharyan should be happy missing Chelsea move - look at Mudryk

Former Dynamo Moscow president Yuri Belous says Arsen Zakharyan should be relieved a move to Chelsea fell through.

Zakharyan was all set to join Chelsea in August, but financial sanctions against Russia thwarted the deal.

Belous says the youngster should be happy, given the problems Mykhaylo Mudryk has encountered since his move to Chelsea from Shakhtar Donetsk.

He told Betonnobile: “Obviously, the failed transfer to Chelsea had a negative impact on Zakharyan's game. Now on the field, he looks much less bright than before.

"But in itself, going abroad for a football player is not an end in itself. It is important to find your place in the team, to realise yourself.

"Look, the same Chelsea paid a lot of money for Mudryk, so what? The last matches the guy spent on the bench. The fate of Arsen could have developed in a similar way.

"Therefore, now he needs to think not about some unrealised transfers, but about how to become a full-fledged leader of Dynamo and raise the team in the standings. Then everything will work out for him by itself."
