Europa League: You can’t trust him – Keown slams Arsenal star after Sporting draw

Arsenal legend, Martin Keown has criticised goalkeeper, Matt Turner following their 2-2 draw with Sporting Lisbon in the Europa League last-16 first leg tie on Thursday.

Turner was handed a rare start as manager Mikel Arteta made six changes to his side.

The 28-year-old was at fault for Sporting’s first goal, after he failed to come off his line for a corner kick, allowing Goncalo Inacio to head home.

Arsenal had taken the lead through William Saliba, but the Portuguese club’s equaliser saw the momentum change.

Paulinho made it 2-1, before Arsenal levelled when Granit Xhaka’s cross was deflected in off Hidemasa Morita.

“Really he (Turner) killed everybody with the first goal because he starts to come and then he goes back.

“Kiwior has got to do more than that too but if I’m playing regularly with this goalkeeper, I’m thinking I’m going to have to try and head things, because I can’t necessarily trust him,” Keown said.
