Europa League: They need rest – Scholes names two stars Ten Hag should drop from United’s XI

Manchester United legend, Paul Scholes has told the club’s boss, Erik ten Hag to drop two players from his lineup to enable them rest.

Scholes said he saw signs of fatigue in the players in Man United’s 4-1 victory over Real Betis in the Europa League last night.

The former England star specifically mentioned Casemiro and Luke Shaw, saying they ‘need a rest’.

Marcus Rashford, Antony, Bruno Fernandes and Wout Weghorst scored for the Red Devils as they put one foot in the quarter finals of the competition ahead of the second leg at Old Trafford.

“Some of these players need a rest now,” Paul Scholes said after the victory against the Spanish side.

“I thought Shaw looked like he needed a rest tonight, Casemiro looks like he needs a rest.

“They can give a few young players a taste of European football [next week] and hopefully that will stand them in good stead for the future,” he said.
