That’s life – PSG coach, Galtier reveals who to blame for Ziyech’s failed transfer move

Paris Saint-Germain coach, Christophe Galtier has blamed Chelsea for the failed transfer of winger, Hakim Ziyech.

Ziyech agreed to personal terms with PSG over a loan move for the rest of the season, but the deal broke down in dramatic fashion on Tuesday night.

Both PSG and Chelsea were expected to finalise an agreement, but the documentation to complete Morocco international’s transfer was not submitted in time.

Ziyech was in France on deadline day preparing to be unveiled as a PSG player, but reluctantly returned to England and will finish the current season at Chelsea.

Speaking after PSG’s 3-1 win against Montpellier on Wednesday night, Galtier talked about his club’s failed move for Ziyech, insisting that the responsibility doesn’t lie with the French Ligue 1 champions.

The 56-year-old said (via RMC Sport): “For various reasons, we could not sign the player we had targeted. We have this workforce here. I have a quality workforce; the young people will have their say in this second part of the season. Obviously, in a busy calendar, you have to be careful with injuries and fatigue.”

“I am satisfied with the squad we had at the start of the season; we could have reinforced it following the departure of Pablo [Sarabia]. We couldn’t do it. I believe that the responsibility does not lie with our club. That is how it is; that is life; we look ahead.”
