He’s not fit to play – Blanc warns Chelsea over their 19-year-old new signing

Lyon manager, Laurent Blanc has warned Chelsea over their new 19-year-old new signing, Malo Gusto’s hamstring injury.

Blanc said that Gusto is not fit to play because he still has discomfort, adding that Chelsea should show ’common sense’ over the player’s injury.

Chelsea signed Gusto from Lyon in a £26.3million deal during the January transfer window.

The Blues, however, loaned the right-back straight back to the French Ligue 1 side for the rest of the season after he signed a seven-and-a-half-year contract at Stamford Bridge.

“We have a problem with Malo,” Blanc told French outlet L’Equipe.

“He injured his hamstring a few games ago and he recovered. He still has discomfort. You have to treat it well, but it is not much.

“I hope that Lyon and Chelsea will show common sense. In any case, he is not fit to play a Ligue 1 match, so it is better to wait. But he could be on the bench.”
