Gray delighted for Sancho after Man Utd goalscoring performance

Former Sunderland fullback Michael Gray is delighted for Jadon Sancho after his goalscoring performance for Manchester United last night.

Gray was delighted for Sancho, who has endured a difficult first 18 months at United since joining them from Borussia Dortmund, and feels the 22-year-old could force his way into the starting line-up if he keeps performing like that.

"Jadon Sancho, what a difference he's made," Gray, after United's 2-2 draw with Leeds, said on talkSPORT.

"We want to see more performances like that, coming off the bench, running at defenders scoring goals, making opportunities for his team-mates. He looked like he had a bit of confidence about him.

"He was asking for the ball, which I haven't seen before, but I want to see it week in, week out now, pushing to get in that stating XI. But it's it's great to see him back.

"Sancho's gone though a terrible time but hopefully this will kick-start his career at Manchester United."

Following his £73m move to Old Trafford, very little has gone right for Sancho, and he lost his place in the team earlier this season.

Gray adds, "Take nothing away from Sancho, he's looked really lively since he came on the field.

"The ball actually falls to his feet very kindly in that 18-yard area, he just has to get his shot away but Meslier, you do have to question the goalkeeper."
