Newcastle boss Howe pushed about Gordon signing

Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe declined to comment about a transfer move for Anthony Gordon of Everton.

The Magpies are being linked to the young winger, who has not enjoyed the best of seasons with the Toffees.

After his team beat Southampton 1-0 in the Carabao Cup semi final first leg away from home, Howe would not be drawn on speculation regarding Gordon.

“I can tell you absolutely nothing, I've been preparing for this game for two days," Howe told Sky Sports after the game.

Despite not commenting on Gordon, Howe has indicated that he expected new signings to come through the door this winter.

The St. James' Park club are financially backed by Saudi Arabia, ensuring they can spend massive sums to boost their squad in the coming years.
