Former Premier League star, Roy Keane has slammed Argentina goalkeeper, Emiliano Martinez over his antics during the penalty shootout.

The 2022 World Cup final between Argentina and France was settled on a penalty shootout after the game ended 3-3 after 120 minutes.

Martinez’s penalty shootout antics did not go down well with Roy Keane after the goalkeeper saved Kingsley Coman’s effort before Aurelian Tchouameni fired wide.

Argentina beat France 4-2 on penalties after the game finished 2-2 after 90 minutes and 3-3 after extra-time.

Aston Villa goalkeeper, Martinez is known for his penalty-saving abilities and celebrated wildly in front of Coman after saving his spot-kick.

Martinez then threw the ball away before Tchouameni stepped up and the Premier League goalkeeper tried to approach the Real Madrid midfielder and was shown a a yellow card from the referee as a result.

“The games he was playing, we don’t like to see that,” Keane said on ITV.

“But we always thought Argentina were favourites if it went to penalties because of him.”
