Qatar 2022: Messi misses training ahead of World Cup final against France

Argentina captain, Lionel Messi didn’t take part in training with the rest of his team-mates on Thursday.

However, it is understood the 35-year-old was doing a recovery session indoors with the players who started their semi-final win over Croatia on Tuesday.

Messi was not part of 13 players being put through their paces in Doha.

He also didn’t join the six starters who watched on from the sidelines, sparking concerns that he might be nursing a thigh injury after clutching his left hamstring throughout the match against Croatia.

But, according to Argentine newspaper, Clarin, the 35-year-old has no injury issues ahead of the final against France and his left hamstring is fine.

Messi was with Papu Gomez and Lautaro Martinez inside doing recovery work in the gym, with the whole squad having been given Wednesday off.

He is expected to be back on the training pitches doing ball work on Friday.
