EPL: Ronaldo left Man Utd in a bad way – Valencia

Former Manchester United defender, Antonio Valencia has expressed his disappointment over the manner Cristiano Ronaldo left the Premier League club.

Ronaldo saw his contract mutually terminated by the Red Devils before the 2022 World Cup.

The 37-year-old’s relationship with the club broke down irreparably following a controversial interview with Piers Morgan.

“It was too bad Cristiano Ronaldo left Man Utd in the way he did.

“A player like him should leave a club by walking off the pitch to applause at a sold-out stadium.

“The interview he gave recently was unfortunate. He’ll have his reasons for saying what he did, but I felt awful about the way he left the club.

“I hope everything goes well for him at his new club. I wish Ronaldo nothing but the best,” Valencia told The Athletic.

Ronaldo has been seriously linked with a move to Saudi Arabia to join Al-Nassr as a free agent.
