Liverpool have completed the signing of Netherlands forward Cody Gakpo from PSV.
The Reds have paid between £35 and £45m for the forward, who scored three goals in five appearances at the World Cup in Qatar.
Gakpo, who underwent his medical on Merseyside on Wednesday afternoon, is understood to have signed a deal until 2028.
Liverpool had not planned to sign a forward in January, but injuries to Diogo Jota and Luis Diaz coupled with interest from rivals prompted the club to accelerate their interest.
He could now be in line to make his Liverpool debut against Brentford on January 2 on Monday Night Football, live on Sky Sports. The transfer window officially reopens on January 1 with the Premier League treating January 1 and 2 as working days for player registrations.
