Real Madrid working on Toni Kroo’s replacement

Real Madrid president, Florentino Perez, is reportedly eyeing Brighton’s Moises Caicedo as a potential replacement for midfielder Toni Kroos, El Nacional reports.

Kroos is in the final year of his contract at Real Madrid and has recently rejected a proposal to extend his stay at the Spanish capital.

The German will turn 33 in January 2023 and could contemplate retirement at the end of the season.

Real Madrid are keen on tying down Kroos on a new contract, but he is yet to reach a concrete decision regarding his future with the LaLiga champions.

In the event that he leaves at the end of the season, Real Madrid are eyeing Caicedo.

The Ecuador international has immense potential and has regularly featured in Brighton’s squad.

His current contract with Brighton will expire in the summer of 2025, and the Seagulls will only listen to offers above €50 million for the 21-year-old.
