PSG striker Kylian Mbappe admits France president Emanuel Macron had a say in his decision to reject Real Madrid over the summer.
Mbappe appeared all set to sign for Real in a Bosman deal before the intervention of Macron.
He told Sports Illustrated, "We had several calls. In December, January, February, March...
"Macron called me and said: 'I know you want to leave, but I want you to know that you are important to France and I would not like you to leave. You have the opportunity to make history here. Everyone loves you'."
The PSG star added: "I said I appreciated it. It really is crazy. The president calls you and asks you to stay.
