Southampton head of recruitment Joe Shields has been told to steer clear of St Mary's and Staplewood Campus.
Per The Athletic, he has not been sacked, nor has he resigned from his post at present.
However, Chelsea's approach to hire him as their new director of recruitment has not gone down well at Southampton.
The 35-year-old joined the Saints from Manchester City this summer, where he was involved with youth development.
Per Fabrizio Romano, Shields is in talks with Chelsea, but the deal is still in the early stages.
The Athletic's report goes on to say that Shields would have to serve a six-month leave notice before he can join Chelsea.
