Ex-Man Utd coach Carrick pulls back from Middlesbrough talks

Manchester United legend Michael Carrick is unlikely to make his first entry into being a manager.

The former defensive midfielder was being linked to the hot seat at Middlesbrough.

However, the Daily Mail adds that Carrick is not keen on taking on the role at this moment.

Boro will now have to look elsewhere as they look to find a successor to Chris Wilder, who lost his job last week.

Head of football Kieran Scott would prefer to hire Watford boss Rob Edwards.

Another option is youth coach Lee Cattermole, who is presently part of the interim management team.
