Watford forward Joao Pedro: I'm happy here

Watford striker Joao Pedro is happy to stay at the club, despite wanting a move to the Premier League.

The 20-year-old was linked with moves away from the club for most of the summer.

However, the talented attacker is content to spend the year in the Championship, as he believes being part of "one big family" is one huge positive of staying with the Hornets.

"I feel part of a family," Pedro said, via the Watford Observer.

"Every single person at the training ground has shown me a lot of care and affection, and I believe that isn't just for what I do on the pitch but also for the kind of person I am.

"I also think I have a relationship with our fans. I hear the songs with my name when I am on the pitch and I do my best to give back the love they give to me. When I am out on the pitch I am trying to repay the good feelings they give me. I hear the songs, I feel the love and I truly appreciate it.

"Since I came here as a young boy, this is what Watford and the fans represent: one big family."

"Yes I'm happy the transfer window is shut, because I can focus on the season and do the best I can for Watford," he added.

"It didn't unsettle me because I've always been chilled. I just waited to see what was going to happen, but I knew whatever happened would be the best for me."
