Valencia coach Gattuso tells players after Atletico Madrid defeat: You can't play to 70 minutes

Valencia coach Rino Gattuso admitted frustration after defeat at home to Atletico Madrid.

Antoine Griezmann struck in the second-half for Atletico's 1-0 win.

Gattuso said: "It's hard to talk about the game now. We have played two good games in Bilbao and today and having zero points is not correct. We have our way to continue. We don't have to play for 70 minutes, but reach 90. With the same quality of desire, of play, etc.

"I think that at this moment I don't like that the team doesn't last until the end. Playing like this will go well. But we cannot say that it was bad luck, that the referee etc. We have to hold out until 90. We can't talk either about others having a better team, for me my players are the best in the world."

Gattuso also said: "If you go to VAR, you always have to go to VAR. It cannot be that the referee decides to go to the VAR or not. If you go to the VAR to review goals, always go.

"It was Diakhaby's fault, it's true. But it cannot be that one day they decide to go to VAR and another not. They should always go. Either you always go to VAR or you don't. I have looked at it and it is true, it was a mistake. But I don't understand why they don't always go."
