Barcelona head coach, Xavi Hernandez cannot rule out midfielder, Frenkie de Jong being sold this summer, insisting that the 25-year-old knows his position.
Xavi said this while providing an update on De Jong amid interest from Chelsea and Manchester United.
De Jong, who Barcelona is keen to sell, is a summer transfer target for both Chelsea and Manchester United.
The Dutch star scored the final goal in Barcelona’s 6-0 victory over Pumas in the Joan Gamper Trophy on Sunday.
Asked about De Jong, Xav said at his post-match press conference: “Frenkie already knows my position and that of the club, for me, he is a great player.
“I don’t know what will happen to Frenkie de Jong.
“Until August 31, anything can happen.”
