Transfer: Chelsea finally agreed deal with Leicester City’s Fofana

Chelsea and Leicester City have finally agreed a deal for the transfer of Wesley Fofana.

Leicester City have eventually accepted Chelsea’s fourth bid for the defender after the third bid of around £60m earlier this week had been rejected.

The Athletic now reports that a breakthrough has been made, although the transfer fee has not been made public.

Fofana was banished from Leicester City’s first team for their game against Southampton last weekend and will not be available for this weekend’s meeting with Chelsea after he tried to force himself out of the King Power Stadium.

Fofana is now on his way out of the club before the end of the transfer window as Chelsea are keen on adding another defender following departures of Andreas Christensen and Antonio Rudiger on free transfers to Barcelona and Real Madrid, respectively.

The Blues have already added Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli and Marc Cucurella from Brighton.
