Manchester United boss, Erik ten Hag has named those who will wear the captain armband at the club
According to him, in the absence of Harry Maguire, Bruno Fernandes, who led the team in their 2-1 win against Liverpool on Monday, will captain the team.
Ten Hag spoke on the club’s captaincy on Friday while addressing the press ahead of the Premier League clash against Southampton.
Calls have been put across to the Dutchman to strip Maguire of the captaincy following his poor performances of recent.
Some former players and pundits have demanded that the captaincy be given to Fernandes.
Hag said, “We have a leadership group and Harry is one of them, Bruno is one of them. Bruno did quite well as captain.
“He led by example and he brings so much energy to the team in and out of possession.”
The Red Devils hope to build on the impressive 2-1 win over Liverpool when they travel to take on the Saints in the 12.30pm kick-off on Saturday.
