Southampton manager Hasenhuttl expecting transfers before deadline day

Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl is hopeful of the club concluding transfer deals before deadline day.

The Saints and other clubs are in a rush to complete their squads for the current season, with the window slamming shut on September 1st.

Hasenhuttl, whose side must secure more signings if they are to avoid a relegation battle, believed that players will be coming in and going out of the club in the next few days.

He told a news conference: "I don't want to speak about rumours or any transfer news questions also, we play against United on the weekend which is a big game.

"The transfer market is still open yes but I try to bring the focus on a very important game for us and for the next weeks, a game that can give us the direction."

Hasenhuttl continued: "Especially for me it is very important for me to focus on this work rather than rumours around who is going where.

"You can be sure, and this is the last thing I will say on the transfer market, in this final six days there will come players in and there will go players out.

"I don't know who goes in and goes out, but I am sure there will be movement in both directions."
