La Real want the Dutchman to boost their attack after striker Alexander Isak joined Newcastle United for €70 million this week.
The Basque side are also in talks to bring back Alexander Sorloth. The Norwegian is liked by coach Imanol Alguacil, who hopes to bring the striker from RB Leipzig.
However, La Real have the option to sign Memphis on the table. Talks have been held over a loan deal but the Dutchman's salary is prohibitive.
