Former Arsenal star, Ian Wright, has hailed ‘magnificent’ William Saliba after his debut in Arsenal’s Premier League opening-day victory over Crystal Palace.
Saliba was impressive as Arsenal defeated Crystal Palace 2-0 in the Premier League on Friday night at Selhurst Park.
A goal from Gabriel Martinelli and an own goal from Marc Guehi gave the Gunners the victory over Patrick Vieira’s side.
Asked to rate Saliba’s debut, Wright told Premier League productions: “Magnificent. He was fantastic tonight. He looks like a brand new signing.
“Mikel and Edu have got to take a lot of credit for what they have done with this guy. This guy is someone we have always thought would be special.”
He added, “Even when they sent him out on loan, there were fans calling for him to come back. He’s a full international now, he looks composed, calm, he’s got great pace.”
