Chelsea are in advanced talks with Brighton over a deal for left-back Marc Cucurella.
Chelsea have indicated to Brighton that they are ready to pay £50m for the Spaniard after Manchester City refused to meet the south-coast club's asking price.
Cucurella handed in an official transfer request last week after City had a bid of £30m turned down.
The 24-year-old made 35 Premier League appearances last season and won Brighton's player of the year award following his £15.4m arrival from Getafe last summer.
