However, the Daily Mail suggests that Sociedad wanted a mega fee for Isak.
While Newcastle have a lot of funds thanks to their takeover from a Saudi Arabia-led consortium last season, they are not willing to overspend.
They will now turn their attention to other players, unless Sociedad bring down the asking price on Isak.
