Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has put Tyler Mprton on notice for the new season.'
Klopp has identified two midfield additions to his squad which he hopes can make all the difference in the coming season.
The Reds have been linked with a host of midfield targets this summer but are yet to bring anyone in, with reports suggesting Klopp is waiting until Broussia Dortmund's Jude Bellingham is available next year.
And Klopp has now responded to claims that the club "should have signed a midfielder" during the current transfer window by pointing out two additions to his squad.
He said: "People forget that Harvey Elliot was our best player in the first four matches of last season and then he got a bad injury.
"But we brought in Carvalho, who is incredibly interesting. Also Tyler Morton, who is definitely making the next steps, he played good games for us at No.6, however he is actually a No.8."
