Fulham set to sign Solomon after Shakthar Donetsk contract ended

Fulham have taken advantage of a FIFA rule regarding Ukrainian players to secure a summer signing.

The Cottagers have signed Israeli forward Manor Solomon from Shakthar Donetsk on a one-year contract.

Solomon was allowed to terminate his deal as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.

Any foreign players or coaches based in Ukraine are permitted by FIFA to leave their clubs and sign deals elsewhere.

Solomon said after signing: "I'm really happy and delighted to be here at Fulham and I can't wait to feel the special atmosphere at Craven Cottage.

"There are some great players here and I am determined to help Fulham achieve its goals for the year.

"I also want to send a big hug to my friends and supporters in Ukraine. You are in my thoughts."
