Pep prepares for Fernandinho farewell

Pep Guardiola has described working with departing Manchester  City captain Fernandinho as a "grateful moment" in his life.

The Brazilian midfielder will play his final game in City colours on Sunday, where he could lift the Premier League title for the final time.

"We have been together, and a few players are like this as well, since day one," Guardiola said of Fernandinho in his press conference. "He became captain and deserved it.

"We experienced many things together in the good moments and bad moments. He’s a generous guy, puts the club and the team first over him and he knows that it’s been a grateful moment in my life to work with him.

"We wish him all the best in the future in the last years in Brazil and maybe he can manage in future. I’m sure we’ll meet again in the future."
