Liverpool attacker Mane plays down exit rumours: Without my teammates I'm nothing

Liverpool attacker Sadio Mane played down his heroics during Tuesday's win over Aston Villa.

The Senegalese superstar scored a terrific header in the second-half to clinch victory at Villa Park.

The Reds are now level on points with Manchester City, who will play Wolves on Wednesday.

Mane has recently been linked with an exit from Anfield, but the 30-year-old has insisted he is happy at the club.

He told Sky Sports: "It was a good cross from Diaz, I was in the box and in this moment I just need to put it in the net and even without power I usually score.

"We know each other well from training every day. When he got the ball I knew he was going to cross so I was just going to be ready for it.

"When we won trophies I was more happier. I am just trying to enjoy every moment and try to score. It is all about the team and the boys make it easy for me.

"I'm honestly very happy. I am just trying to enjoy every moment and assist my team mate. Without my team mates I'm nothing."

Bayern Munich have reportedly made contact with Mane's representatives.

Mane is out of contract in 2023 and talks over an extension have stalled.
