Erik ten Hag may change mind on Man United job – Scott Minto

Former West Ham and Chelsea star Scott Minto have suggested that newly appointed Ajax boss, Erik ten Hag, might just be considering walking away from the Manchester United contract.

He said Erik would be having second thoughts after watching Manchester United’s worrying 4-0 thrashing in the hands of Brighton on Saturday.

The Seagulls took the lead through Moisés Caicedo and Marc Cucurella doubled the lead just four minutes after the re-start. Gross waltzed to put the game beyond the multiple league champions moments later and Leandro Trossard scored Brighton’s fourth goal of the night.

And Minto told talkSPORT: “I’m telling you now, Erik ten Hag is checking his contract to see if the ink is dry, getting a rubber out and saying ‘I’m not quite sure I can turn this around.

“That’s why Ten Hag and what he does with recruitment in the summer is absolutely crucial because this is Manchester United, but today, this is not the Manchester United that we know.”

The defeat officially confirmed that the Red Devils have missed out on next season’s Champions League football. They will now hope to win their remaining league games and settle for the Europa League.
