Departing Liverpool striker Origi: I will miss these boys a lot

Divock Origi has addressed Liverpool fans as he prepares to leave.

The Belgian forward is expected to join Serie A champions AC Milan this summer after agreeing personal terms with the Italian giants.

Origi has become a fans' favourite since arriving at Anfield in 2014, and has admitted he will be sad to move on, but has suggested that it is time for him to seek a new challenge.

"I will miss these boys a lot," Origi said as Liverpool celebrated this season's Carabao Cup and FA Cup triumphs.

"I have been here eight years, but I feel my purpose is done.

"the club is in safe hands. There is so much still to come from this team."

Despite winning two trophies, the Reds had a disappointing final week of the season as Manchester City pipped them to the Premier League title, before Real Madrid beat them 1-0 in the Champions League final on Saturday.

Origi was unavailable for the defeat in Paris due to injury, and could only watch on from the sidelines as Vinicius Junior's strike just before the hour mark settled the game.
