EPL: You’re frustrated – Souness slams Ronaldo after hat-trick against Norwich

Former Newcastle United manager, Graeme Souness, has slammed Cristiano Ronaldo, claiming the Portugal captain is showing signs of being a frustrated figure.

Manchester United managed to beat Norwich City 3-2 on Saturday, thanks to a hat-trick from Ronaldo.

The victory helped keep the Red Devils’ slim top-four hopes alive, being that Tottenham and Arsenal both lost at the weekend.

Souness, a Liverpool legend, has pointed fingers at some players who have not helped Manchester United this season and surprisingly top scorer Ronaldo was named among them.

“Cristiano Ronaldo has a claim to be the best player ever, but is showing signs of being a frustrated figure coming to the end of playing at the highest level,” Souness wrote in his column for The Times.

“Before he signed, I’d have made it clear he would not play every game but would have wanted him to be an example to everyone in the dressing room.

“It looks like he’s finding it hard to get that message across because of how the modern game has evolved and he can’t make the impression he wants anymore.”
