EPL: Manchester United’s Fernandes names toughest midfielder he ever faced

Manchester United’s Bruno Fernandes has named the toughest midfielder he has faced in the Premier League so far.

Fernandes joined Manchester United in 2020 from Sporting Lisbon.

Since arriving at Old Trafford, the Portugal international has faced the likes of Chelsea’s N’Golo Kante, Manchester City’s Keven De Bruyne, and Leicester City’s Wilfred Ndidi, among others.

Fernandes has been one of the most influential players in the Premier League, scoring 35 goals and providing 25 assists across 78 appearances for Man United.

He signed a new deal with Man United on Friday that would see him remain at the club for at least 2026.

Taking part in a Twitter question and answer session on Friday, Fernandes named ‘Kevin De Bruyne’ when asked who the toughest midfielder he has faced in the Premier League.

Fernandes has faced the Belgium international on six occasions across all competitions, winning just once, drawing twice and losing three times.
