Nigeria vs Ghana: Troost-Ekong names Super Eagles player Black Stars are scared of

Super Eagles assistant captain, William Troost-Ekong, has named Victor Osimhen as the player the Black Stars of Ghana was scared of.

Troost-Ekong said this while reacting to Nigeria’s 0-0 draw with Ghana on Friday night.

The Super Eagles held the Black Stars to a goalless draw in a 2022 FIFA World Cup qualifying playoff first leg fixture in Kumasi.

He said, “It was difficult for the guys. The pitch did not help, it was a try pitch,” Troost-Ekong said at his post-match press conference.

“They sometimes struggled to move the ball quickly. But I think it was great work from Ghana, but I think everybody was quite scared of Victor [Osimhen]. They were two against one most of the time [against him].

“We have learned from today, we need to be more clinical and against a good team like Ghana. When you get one or two chances, you have to score, or else you cannot win the game.”

Nigeria will host Ghana on Tuesday in the reverse fixture at the Moshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
