Camp signs deal with non-League Wrexham

Former Derby and Nottingham Forest goalkeeper Lee Camp has signed a short-term deal at Wrexham.

The 37-year-old, who played in the Premier League for Norwich,  has joined the National League club until the end of the season.

Wrexham, under Hollywood owners Rob McElhenney and Ryan Reynolds, are gunning for promotion back into the Football League.

Camp most recently played for Swindon Town in the latter stages of the 2020/21 campaign having earned nine camps for Northern Ireland during his career.

“It’s exciting. Since finishing at the end of last season, there have been opportunities to get back in but nothing that has taken my fancy," said Camp.

“You can get to a stage in your career where you just sort of plod along but I’ve never been that person. I’ve always wanted to be involved in stuff, add value and contribute, and be a part of something."
