2022 World Cup: He lacks tactical knowledge – Nigeria told to change Eguavoen immediately

Former Nigeria international, Arthur Egbunam, has advised that Super Eagles interim manager, Austine Eguavoen, must be changed at once if the team must qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar later this year.

Egbunam believes Eguavoen lacks tactical knowledge to secure Nigeria the 2022 World Cup ticket ahead of Ghana.

He said this ahead of Nigeria’s World Cup second leg playoff against the Black Stars in Abuja, on Tuesday.

DAILY POST reports that Nigeria had drawn 0-0 against Ghana in the first leg in Kumasi on Friday.

I appraise the Super Eagles performance against Ghana below 50%. Unless the coach is changed because he lacks tactical knowledge of the game, l don’t see the team going to Qatar,” Egbunam told Completesports.

“The team has no pattern. A team that played four strikers with two midfielders and four defenders. The strikers were lost during the game against Ghana; no through balls to the strikers on a transitional play or on counter-attack.

“Honestly, I don’t know if Eguavoen will make some changes in the line-up, but if it stays the same, then there will be a big problem,” he added.
