Patrice Evra snubs Rooney, Ronaldo, names best player he ever played with

Former Manchester United left-back, Patrice Evra has identified the club’s legend Ryan Giggs as the best player he has played with during his career, snubbing both teammates Cristiano Ronaldo and Wayne Rooney.

The Frenchman said he picked Giggs ahead of Rooney and Ronaldo because sometimes the Welsman will pass the ball where nobody would see it and because of his legacy.

Evra made a total of 273 appearances during his time at Man United and won various trophies, which included five Premier League titles and a Champions League.

Speaking to news outlet 433, the 40-year-old surprised fans by insisting his best player would be Giggs.

“People always ask me the best player you played with after you signed for United [Manchester United], and they expect me to say Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo,” Evra said.

“I always say Ryan Giggs because sometimes he will pass the ball where nobody would see it, and his legacy.

“I remember with Giggsy, even if you were losing a game in training, he would be going mad. Sometimes even the training was more important than the actual game.”

He added, “I learned a lot with this guy, and we played on the left side together, and argued a lot on the pitch, because I loved to do those really bad throw-ins where the ball bounces in front of you, so you know you have to react.

“He [Ryan Giggs] had great technique, so he was like, Patrice played it into my feet!

“I was like a player like you, you should deal with it! And after the game, we were just like sorry bro… that game was intense.”
