Champions League: Why draw was repeated – Iker Casillas

Former Real Madrid and Spain goalkeeper, Iker Casillas has provided the reason the Champions League draw was repeated.

The former goalkeeper said the draw was repeated because “something did not go well”.

He believes European football’s governing body eventually made the right decision to repeat the procedure after an error was spotted the first time.

“[The draw] was repeated because something did not go well. In the interests of the club, the first ball is not the next.

“It is clear that they repeat it, because it was the most normal thing to do,” he said at the LaLiga TwentyNine event.

Casillas’ former club, Real Madrid, will face Paris Saint-Germain in the last 16 of the competition in February.
