Ralf Rangnick to take over as Man United new manager

Ralf Rangnick will be unveiled any moment from now as the new manager at Manchester United following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s sack.

He will work at the club for the rest of the season as the search for a permanent manager continues.

But Rangnick once rejected the chance to take over at Chelsea this year because he did not want to be an ‘interim coach’.

The German is on the verge of being unveiled as United boss on a temporary basis.

He is said to have impressed the club’s hierarchy during their talks this week and stood out amongst other candidates.

The German gaffer was also approached by the Blues earlier this year after the dismissal of Frank Lampard.

However, the 63-year-old rejected the chance to move to Stamford Bridge, claiming that he would’ve been seen a ‘lame duck’ if he agreed to an interim role.

It was his decision that paved the way for former Borussia Dortmund and Paris Saint-Germain boss, Thomas Tuchel to move to Chelsea.
