Ex-Chelsea star, Cundy slams ‘disgraceful’ Liverpool fans for booing Suarez

Former Chelsea star, Jason Cundy, has branded the Liverpool fans who booed Luis Suarez upon his return to Anfield with Atletico Madrid on Wednesday night as a ‘disgrace’.

Liverpool defeated Atletico Madrid in the Champions League clash at Anfield, thanks to two goals from Sadio Mane and Diogo Jota.

During the encounter, when Suarez was subbed, he was booed by some sections of the home crowd as he made his way off to be replaced by Hector Herrera.

Reacting to the development, Cundy told talkSPORT: “Liverpool fans booing Suarez, I couldn’t work it out. I thought I would miss something in the match.

“Why are Liverpool fans booing Suarez? He was an absolute legend and hero and nearly single-handedly dragged them to a Premier League title under Brendan Rodgers.

“Why? What’s the story? I know he plays for Atleti but booing Suarez? Come on, where’s this going?

“I thought it was disgraceful and shameful.”
