Champions League: Tuchel identifies two areas Ziyech must improve after Chelsea’s win over Malmo

Chelsea boss, Thomas Tuchel has identified two areas Hakim Ziyech must improve following their Champions League 1-0 win over Malmo on Tuesday night.

Chelsea defeated Malmo in Sweden, thanks to Ziyech’s second-half goal following a brilliant cross from Callum Hudson-Odoi.

Tuchel, who was glad to see Ziyech score his first goal since the UEFA Super Cup clash against Villarreal in August, said the Morocco international can still improve his “decision-making” and become more “clinical” in front of goal.

Speaking about Ziyech at his post-match press conference, Tuchel said, “Still, I think there is space to improve for him in his decision-making and where to be more consistent.

“We always rely on his work-rate, counter-pressing, and awareness. It is a huge part of his performances.

“He can still be more clinical and maybe grow more into the rhythm, but I think his shoulder injury hurt him a lot.

“Even if he pushed hard to come back early, he is still not 100 percent free as he should be, but I am happy because a goal like this will help. I am happy for him.”

Chelsea’s next game is against Burnley in the Premier League on Saturday.
