Manchester City fans will have an unusual new snack option when they return to Etihad Stadium for their first Premier League home game of the 2021-22 season, with the club announcing the introduction of "edible coffee cups".
The champions unveiled a host of new food and drink options ahead of the game against Norwich City this weekend, saying it was part of a drive to increase the amount of locally sourced catering at their home ground, and to cut down on environmental waste.
In among the promise of local food and artisan beer, however, was the striking announcement of a suggested new way to cut down on rubbish - "just eat your cup!" - but that supporters would not be forced to ingest their coffee cups if they don't want to.
