David Luiz makes Claim on Arsenal under Arteta this season

Former Arsenal defender, David Luiz, has claimed that the club has ‘different ideas’ under their manager, Mikel Arteta, this season.

Luiz explained that Arsenal has a different project for the long term under Arteta, adding that when joined Arsenal on a two-year contract, his idea was to win.

The Brazilian star spent two years at the Emirates Stadium, winning both the FA Cup and Community shield before his contract expired this summer.

Arsenal began their 2021/2022 campaign with a 2-0 defeat to newly-promoted side Brentford on Friday night.

“Both of us [me and Arsenal] decided to split,” Luiz told The Daily Mail.

“I came for two years and the aim was to win something, which I did (the FA Cup and Community Shield).

“Now, I think the club has a different project for the long term. They’ve different ideas. My idea is to win, win, win as soon as possible.”

Luiz featured 73 times for Arsenal and was notably inconsistent during his spell with the club.
