The Red devils threw away the lead two minutes later, with Tyrone Mings scoring a well-deserved equaliser for the visitors.
The draw leaves United ninth in the Premier League table, facing an uphill battle to get towards the top six.
However, According to The Sun, Solksjaer is aware Manchester United could sack him if they lose their next two matches against Tottenham and Manchester City.
The report references a quote from a source claiming the boss held talks with his squad after Sunday’s draw with Villa in which he admitted he fears for his future.
“Ole was a little bit emotional and told them that if they don’t get two results this week, he could be gone,” the source claimed.
"It is the worst time to be facing Spurs with Jose coming back.
“Ole told the players all his and their focus now has to go straightto the Spurs game.
“He was not being critical of Jose in any way but made it clear to the players just how much their old boss will want to win.”
United have a difficult week coming up with games against Spurs and City, and they could find themselves lingering in the middle of the bottom half of the table if things go poorly.
It will also mark the first time Solskjaer will come up against the man he replaced at Old Trafford - Jose Mourinho.
The Portuguese boss, who was fired by United last December, took over at Tottenham in November and has enjoyed a 100-per-cent start to life in north London.
Mourinho is planning to meet up with members of staff from United ahead of his return, after revealing that he had received messages from United officials when he took the Tottenham job.
