Bournemouth striker Callum Wilson aims to strengthen his England credentials this weekend against Manchester United.
Wilson is keen to put himself in the frame for a first senior England call ahead of fixtures against the United States and Croatia later this month.
He told the Daily Echo: “Every striker wants to keep adding goals to their game and to hit 50 goals for Bournemouth would be nice.
“It will have been a long time coming. I should have hit it a lot sooner but I will take hitting it this week or the week after.
“I’m going to focus on Bournemouth and if an England call comes, then it does, and if it doesn’t then I will keep working hard like I have been.
“We’ve had a few international breaks and I haven’t made the cut.
“That’s given me more drive and determination to make the squad and, hopefully, one day it will happen.
“All I can do is keep getting assists and goals and try to be consistent in my performances.”
